Data as of Tuesday, April 12, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 171.61 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Bontang City, Manokwari, Fakfak, Tarakan City, and Jayapura City, with ratios of 985.16 percent, 964 percent, 935.71 percent, 932.33 percent, and 906.82 percent respectively.
Bontang City ranks first. With a population of 185,460, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 985.16 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.56 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Manokwari. The population of this region is recorded at 176,240. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 964 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.24 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Fakfak recorded 935.71 percent testing, Tarakan City recorded 932.33 percent, and Jayapura City recorded 906.82 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 239 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 141 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Bontang City, Manokwari, and Fakfak, with weekly testing percentages of 985.16 percent, 964 percent, and 935.71 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
