The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the hotel occupancy rate (HOR) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia was 53.02% in October 2023.
This figure shows a slight increase of 0.71 percentage points compared to the same period the previous year. In October 2022, the HOR for star-rated hotels domestically was recorded at 52.31%.
However, the HOR for star-rated hotels in Indonesia in October 2023 remained unchanged compared to the previous month.
By region, East Kalimantan had the highest HOR for star-rated hotels at 62.39%. This was followed by Jambi and Central Sulawesi with HORs of 60.63% and 60.46%, respectively.
On the other hand, Aceh and Bangka Belitung Islands both had the lowest HOR for star-rated hotels in October 2023, at only 33.67%. Above them was Papua with a star-rated hotel HOR of 35.68%.
Similarly, the HOR for non-star-rated hotels increased slightly by 0.4 percentage points in October 2023, reaching 24.81%.
However, this achievement for non-star-rated hotels was slightly down by 0.01 percentage points compared to October of the previous year.
DKI Jakarta had the highest HOR for non-star-rated hotels in October 2023, reaching 43.43%, followed by Bali at 36.21%, and Riau Islands at 35.67%.
Meanwhile, the lowest HOR for non-star-rated hotels was recorded in Gorontalo at only 14.37%. This was followed by West Sumatra and Maluku with HORs of 15.63% and 16.06%, respectively.
