Today, Friday, October 8, 2021, Indonesia reported 1,384 new Covid-19 cases. Of the top ten provinces with the highest number of new cases, four are in Java, two in Kalimantan, and two in Sumatra.
DKI Jakarta recorded the highest increase in Covid-19 cases, with 150 new cases, surpassing Central Java which previously held the top spot. Compared to yesterday, Jakarta's increase is one case higher.
The next five provinces with the highest increases are Central Java with 144 cases, East Java with 119 cases, West Java with 107 cases, and North Sulawesi with 88 cases.

The total increase from the top ten provinces reached 881 cases (64%). The remaining 503 cases (36%) were distributed across the other 24 provinces. Today, 18 provinces reported a decrease in cases, while 16 provinces experienced an increase.

The Covid-19 Task Force report shows that the number of active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 4.23 million as of today. Today, Indonesia added 1,384 new positive coronavirus cases.
Meanwhile, from yesterday's 27,747 active cases, 3,514 patients recovered today, and 66 deaths were reported.
