Based on national Covid-19 data, 151 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Monday, August 1, 2022, shows a national average of 1.01 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are: South Jakarta (11.6 people), Central Jakarta (10.57 people), South Tangerang (7.86 people), East Jakarta (7.5 people), and West Jakarta (7.47 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 11.6 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 16.25 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 10.57 people per 1,000 were tested per week. The positive rate is 15.82 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Following this, South Tangerang recorded 7.86 tests per 1,000 people per week, East Jakarta 7.5, and West Jakarta 7.47.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 36 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Meanwhile, 335 other regencies/cities recorded lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Badung (6.71 people), Balikpapan (5.64 people), and Mimika (5.54 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
