Among the top five, Angola recorded one death (unchanged from the previous week), Madagascar recorded one death (0% decrease), and Sudan recorded one death (50% decrease).
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the past seven days in Africa occurred in South Africa, with 86 deaths. Death reports in this country increased by 160.61% compared to the previous week. Following this, Morocco recorded three deaths (up 200%), Sudan recorded two deaths (down 50%), Angola recorded one death (down 0%), and Madagascar recorded one death (down 0%).
Total deaths in Africa over the past seven days were recorded at 93. This accounts for 0.97 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 9,628. The number of deaths in Africa increased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 42 deaths.
