The top five cities with the highest number of specimens examined per week are Tarakan (981 specimens), Banyuwangi (957 specimens), Magetan (931 specimens), Metro (905 specimens), and Landak (897 specimens).
Tarakan City ranks first. With a population of 267,270, 981 specimens were examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.14 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Banyuwangi. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 957 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 5.89 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Specimen examinations in Magetan totaled 931 per week, Metro 905 per week, and Landak 897 per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 153 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 172 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimen examinations compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of specimen examinations include Tarakan City (981 specimens), Metro City (905 specimens), and Landak (897 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
