Government Secures Purchase of 329.5 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine: Details Inside

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin confirmed that Indonesia will receive 329.5 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Furthermore, there is an option to add another 334 million doses in the future.

The procurement of these vaccines is carried out through five channels: four bilateral and one multilateral.

Through bilateral channels, the government has signed contracts with Sinovac for the purchase of 125 million doses with an option to add 100 million more. The government has also signed a contract to purchase 50 million doses from Novavax, with an option to add 80 million more.

Furthermore, the government will soon sign a contract with AstraZeneca for the purchase of 50 million doses with an option to add another 50 million. The government is also finalizing a contract to purchase 50 million doses from Pfizer, with an option to add 50 million more.

Through the multilateral channel, Indonesia is participating in the global alliance for vaccines and immunization (GAVI). It is estimated that Indonesia will receive 54 million doses of the Covax vaccine from GAVI, with the potential to add another 54 million doses in the future.
