This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Purwakarta Regency, Banjarbaru City, and Tarakan City, with ratios of 266.93 percent, 186.35 percent, 168.93 percent, 141.43 percent, and 112.03 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 266.93 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.17 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The population of this region is recorded at 802,710. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 186.35 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Purwakarta Regency, with a population of 965,370, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 168.93 percent; Banjarbaru City recorded 141.43 percent; and Tarakan City, with a population of 271,590, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 112.03 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 33 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 82 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, and Banjarbaru City, with weekly testing percentages of 266.93 percent, 186.35 percent, and 141.43 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
