The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Manado City (997 specimens), Sukabumi (995 specimens), Kediri (983 specimens), Sikka (969 specimens), and Serang City (956 specimens).
Manado City ranks first. With a population of 433,880, the number of specimens examined is recorded at 997 per week. The latest positive rate is 7.53 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Sukabumi. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 995 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 2.04 percent, also down from the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Kediri recorded 983 specimens examined per week, Sikka recorded 969 specimens per week, and Serang City recorded 956 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 139 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 171 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Manado City, Sikka, and Kubu Raya, with 997, 969, and 942 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
