The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 62 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 exceeding the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Thursday, August 18, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19, exceeding 0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Fakfak, Banjarmasin City, Banjarbaru City, South Minahasa, and Southeast Minahasa, with respective rates of 2.42, 1.11, 1.07, 0.94, and 0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. However, four regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while 13 regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 include Fakfak, Banjarmasin City, and Banjarbaru City, with respective rates of 2.42, 1.11, and 1.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
