Based on national Covid-19 data, 148 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Tuesday, August 16, 2022, shows a national average of 0.8 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are: South Jakarta (8.84 people), Central Jakarta (8.08 people), South Tangerang (5.86 people), West Jakarta (5.6 people), and East Jakarta (5.22 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 8.84 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positivity rate is 15.21 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 8.08 people per 1,000 were tested per week. The positivity rate is 16.83 percent, up from the previous week.
South Tangerang recorded 5.86 tests per 1,000 people per week, West Jakarta 5.6, and East Jakarta 5.22.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 138 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Meanwhile, 221 regencies/cities recorded lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Badung (5.12 people), Balikpapan (4.89 people), and Jayapura (4.06 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
