Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 81 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Monday, September 26, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 17.09 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Mimika, Sukabumi City, Surakarta City, and Kepulauan Seribu, with ratios of 411.49 percent, 316.07 percent, 264.13 percent, 247.49 percent, and 221.43 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 411.49 percent. The latest positive rate is 5.28 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mimika. The population in this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 316.07 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 5.93 percent, also increasing compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Sukabumi City with a testing percentage of 264.13 percent; Surakarta City, with a population of 519,800, has a weekly testing percentage of 247.49 percent; and Kepulauan Seribu, with a population of 26,105, has a weekly testing percentage of 221.43 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 156 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 193 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Kutai Kartanegara, with weekly testing percentages of 411.49 percent, 316.07 percent, and 179.65 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
