Based on national Covid-19 data, 152 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Saturday, July 9, 2022, shows a national average of 0.87 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are South Jakarta (9.95 people), Central Jakarta (9.07 people), Badung (6.83 people), South Tangerang (5.96 people), and West Jakarta (5.94 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 9.95 people tested per 1,000 people per week. The latest positivity rate is 9.34 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 9.07 people per 1,000 people per week were tested. The positivity rate is 8.12 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in Badung recorded 6.83 people per 1,000 people per week; South Tangerang recorded 5.96 people per 1,000 people per week; and West Jakarta recorded 5.94 people per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 79 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 273 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Badung (6.83 people), Mimika (5.34 people), and Balikpapan (5 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
