The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 90 regencies/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 4.58 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Monday, August 1, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 71.54 per 100,000 population/week are Bogor City, South Tangerang City, Depok City, Tangerang City, and Bekasi City, each with 71.54 per 100,000 population/week.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. Sixty-three regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 47 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Palangkaraya City, Banjarmasin City, and Bontang City, with confirmed positive cases of 52.4 per 100,000 population/week, 48.78 per 100,000 population/week, and 39.36 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
