A Neurosensum survey reveals that 73% of Indonesians consumed more supplements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Of that number, 94% of respondents stated they consumed vitamin C during the pandemic.
Vitamin C functions as an immune system booster. In addition, vitamin C is an antioxidant and protects body cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Sixty percent of respondents in Indonesia also consumed multivitamins during the pandemic. Furthermore, 47% and 41% of respondents consumed vitamin D and B-12, respectively.
Thirty-six percent of respondents consumed calcium. Twenty-five percent of respondents reported consuming zinc, and 23% consumed probiotics.
Twenty percent of respondents consumed fish oil. Sixteen percent and 8% of respondents consumed magnesium and iron, respectively.
In addition to consuming supplements, the public is urged to diligently implement the 3M health protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. These health protocols consist of wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
