The number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who died continues to increase until the 24th day after arriving in the Holy Land.
According to data from the Hajj and Umrah Directorate General (DJPHU) Ministry of Religious Affairs' Siskohat system, Thursday (June 16, 2023) at 13.21 WIB, there were 68 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who died. Of this number, 39 were elderly people aged 65 and above.
Specifically, there were 24 Hajj pilgrims who died in the 65-74 age group. This was followed by the 75-84 age group with 9 people and the 85-94 age group with 6 people.
Meanwhile, the 35-44 age group had the fewest Hajj pilgrims who died to date, only 2 people.
On the other hand, there were no recorded deaths among Hajj pilgrims under 35 years old and over 95 years old.

* 45-54 years old: 6 people
* 55-64 years old: 21 people
* 65-74 years old: 24 people
* 75-84 years old: 9 people
* 85-94 years old: 6 people
* >95 years old: 0 people
Of the total Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who died, 38 were in the high-risk (risti) category.
Cumulatively, the number of Hajj pilgrims who died until the 24th day is the second highest since 2015, reaching 81 people.
Previously, a report from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) showed that 89 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims died during the 2022 Hajj pilgrimage. The majority suffered from ischemic heart disease, followed by pneumonia, stroke, and dehydration.
