Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 175 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Friday, May 27, 2022, shows a national average of 222.42 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Blitar, Sragen, Majalengka, Manado City, and Cilegon City, with respective weekly figures of 998, 993, 991, 968, and 967 tests per week.
Blitar ranks first, with 998 tests per week recorded. The latest positive rate is 0.2 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Sragen, with a population of 890,090. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, 993 tests per week were conducted. The positive rate is 0.3 percent, also lower than the previous week's ratio.
Following this, Majalengka recorded 991 tests per week, Manado City 968 tests per week, and Cilegon City 967 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 70 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 313 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Manado City, Lampung Tengah, and Jambi City, with 968, 953, and 905 tests per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
