The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Jayapura City, Mimika Regency, Surakarta City, and Semarang City, with ratios of 520.19 percent, 410.06 percent, 401.79 percent, 373.75 percent, and 328.31 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 520.19 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.78 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Jayapura City. The population in this region is recorded at 309,760. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 410.06 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 7.84 percent, or higher than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the weekly testing percentage in Mimika Regency is recorded at 401.79 percent; Surakarta City, with a population of 519,800, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 373.75 percent; and Semarang City recorded 328.31 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 116 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 257 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Jayapura City, and Mimika Regency, with weekly testing percentages of 520.19 percent, 410.06 percent, and 401.79 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
