Based on national Covid-19 data, 148 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Saturday, July 30, 2022, shows a national average of 1.2 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta, with 12.85, 11.64, 8.4, 8.38, and 8.16 tests per 1,000 people per week, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first, with 12.85 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 15.26 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 11.64 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 14.73 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in South Tangerang recorded 8.4 tests per 1,000 people per week, West Jakarta 8.38 tests per 1,000 people per week, and East Jakarta 8.16 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 24 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Meanwhile, 356 other regencies/cities recorded lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Badung (7.93 tests per 1,000 people per week), Mimika (6.47), and Balikpapan (6.29).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
