National Covid-19 data recapitulation shows that 129 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. As of Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the national average was recorded at 132.36 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Tegal, Kediri, Serang City, Sukabumi, and Palangkaraya City, with weekly specimen numbers of 971, 965, 964, 937, and 910, respectively.
Tegal ranks first, with 971 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 4.03 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Next is Kediri, which examined 965 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Its positive rate is 4.54 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Serang City recorded 964 specimens per week, Sukabumi 937, and Palangkaraya City 910.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, national Covid-19 data recapitulation shows that 117 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 188 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Palangkaraya City, Mataram City, and Gianyar, with 910, 893, and 818 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
