The top five, starting from the highest, are East Lombok, Pasuruan, Blora, West Bandung, and Serang City, with weekly specimen numbers of 997, 992, 981, 979, and 963 respectively.
East Lombok ranks first, with 997 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Pasuruan. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 992 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.27 percent, also down from the previous week.
Then, Blora with 981 specimens per week; 979 specimens per week were examined in West Bandung; and Serang City recorded 963 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 154 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported daily specimen examination numbers higher than before. Meanwhile, 173 other regencies/cities recorded lower specimen examination numbers compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include East Lombok, Ambon City, and Banjarbaru City, with 997, 914, and 863 specimens respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
