Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 144 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Saturday, September 10, 2022, shows a national average of 146.24 specimens examined per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Sukoharjo (990 specimens), Manokwari (977 specimens), Kudus (921 specimens), Tanjung Pinang City (910 specimens), and Pasuruan (895 specimens).
Sukoharjo ranks first. With a population of 903,750, the number of specimens examined is 990 per week. The latest positive rate is 3.81 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Manokwari. The population is 176,240. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 977 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 5.66 percent, also down from the previous week.
Following this, Kudus recorded 921 specimens examined per week, Tanjung Pinang City 910 specimens per week, and Pasuruan 895 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 114 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 181 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Manokwari, Tanjung Pinang City, and Tarakan City, with 977, 910, and 791 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
