The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Sukabumi (994 specimens), Boyolali (978 specimens), Mataram City (975 specimens), Gianyar (966 specimens), and Pekalongan City (957 specimens).
Sukabumi is ranked first, with 994 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 2.05 percent, lower than the previous week's percentage.
Next is Boyolali, with a population of 990,850. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 978 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 4.14 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Mataram City recorded 975 specimens per week, Gianyar 966 specimens per week, and Pekalongan City 957 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 138 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 148 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimen examinations compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Mataram City, Gianyar, and Tarakan City, with 975, 966, and 953 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
