The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah set the Hajj quota at 1 million pilgrims for the year 2022.
85% of this quota was allocated to international pilgrims, while the remaining 15% was for domestic pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
According to a report by *Saudi Expatriates*, Indonesia received the largest quota of international pilgrims, with 100,051 pilgrims, exceeding all other countries.
This large quota is attributed to Indonesia being the country with the largest Muslim population in the world.
Pakistan ranked second with the largest Hajj quota, at 81,132 pilgrims.
Following Pakistan are India and Bangladesh, with Hajj quotas of 79,237 and 57,585 pilgrims, respectively.
Nigeria received a quota of 43,008 pilgrims. Iran, Turkey, and Egypt each received quotas of 38,481, 37,770, and 35,375 pilgrims, respectively.
Ethiopia received a quota of 19,619 pilgrims, followed by Algeria with 18,697 pilgrims.
The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued Hajj quotas for each province in Indonesia through Ministerial Decree (KMA) Number 405 of 2022.
West Java received the largest provincial quota, with 17,679 pilgrims.
