According to a survey by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) and tSurvey, the majority of Indonesian respondents spent 1-3 hours per visit to a mall in early 2025. This proportion reached 57% of respondents.
The next highest duration, 3-5 hours, accounted for 35% of respondents.
Meanwhile, only 5% visited for more than 5 hours, and only 3% for less than an hour.
The KIC survey also revealed that the main activity for 67% of respondents visiting malls in early 2025 was watching movies at the cinema.
Furthermore, 64% of respondents ate at restaurants or cafes. Then, 50% visited malls for shopping, such as buying clothes, gadgets, electronics, furniture, and others.
The mall visit duration survey, part of the Survey Report: Public Behavior in Visiting Malls, targeted 268 out of a total of 800 respondents.
In total, the respondents consisted of 68% males and 34% females, aged 17-77 years. The sample was taken from upper and middle-class malls (A and B) in Jabodetabek. The data collection was conducted *online* in two periods: September-December 2024 and January-April 2025.
