Indonesia's Star-Rated Hotel Occupancy Rate Increased in April 2025

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the hotel room occupancy rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia was 46.98% in April 2025.

This figure increased by 13.42 percentage points month-to-month (mtm). However, year-on-year (yoy), it decreased by 0.16 points compared to April 2024.

BPS Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, explained that the highest star-rated hotel occupancy rate in April 2025 was in Bali, reaching 57.23%.

"This was driven by major religious holidays, sporting events, and music festivals," said Pudji in an online press conference on Monday (2/6/2025).

Following Bali were South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, which achieved star-rated hotel occupancy rates of 52.41% and 50.69%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest hotel occupancy rate was in the Papua Mountains region, at only 13.70%, followed by West Sulawesi at 18.51% and West Papua at 20.22%.

BPS also recorded that the average length of stay for guests at star-rated hotels in Indonesia in April 2025 was 1.57 nights.

Based on nationality, the average stay for foreign guests was 2.54 nights, while for domestic guests it was 1.44 nights.
