Consumers consider various factors when choosing an online food delivery app.

According to a Jakpat survey conducted in March 2025, the majority (65%) of respondents chose apps based on promotions or discounts offered.

Furthermore, 50% chose apps offering lower prices, and another 50% opted for apps they were already familiar with.

Other factors influencing app selection included payment methods (37%), restaurant variety (35%), and delivery speed (33%).

Some respondents also considered app ratings or user reviews (31%), driver availability during peak hours or rain (29%), user-friendly and attractive app design (25%), and app performance (17%).

JakPat also found that in March 2025, GoFood was the most used app among respondents, with a 38% share. This was followed by ShopeeFood at 29%, GrabFood at 27%, and official restaurant apps at 4%.

The Jakpat survey involved a total of 1,343 respondents, narrowed down to 961 respondents who had ordered food online.

Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (50%), Jabodetabek (32%), and outside Java (18%).

The survey was conducted online via the Jakpat app on March 13-14, 2025, with a margin of error below 5%.
