This week's Covid-19 statistics in Europe show that most countries have recorded a decrease in the number of deaths, a reversal from the previous period where death tolls continued to rise. This week, 12 countries still recorded an increase in deaths, while 19 others recorded fewer deaths than the previous week.
In terms of percentage, the top five countries with the highest increase in deaths are Montenegro, Sweden, Ukraine, Portugal, and Bulgaria. The total deaths in these five countries as of Tuesday, November 8, 2022, amounted to 136, with weekly growth exceeding 50 percent.
Montenegro recorded the highest increase in Covid-19 deaths in Europe, with weekly growth reaching 100 percent. Worldometer recorded two deaths in the country, an increase from the previous week's single death.
Sweden follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, deaths in the country grew by 100 percent. Yesterday's daily death toll was two. Deaths in Ukraine increased by 88.46%, deaths in Portugal increased by 53.33%, and Bulgaria recorded 60 deaths (a 50% increase).
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the last seven days in Europe occurred in Germany, with 991 deaths. Death reports in this country increased by 5.54% compared to the previous week. Following Germany, the UK reported 590 deaths (up 38.5%), Russia reported 484 deaths (down 11.84%), France reported 395 deaths (down 18.56%), and Italy reported 282 deaths (down 39.74%).
Total deaths in Europe over the past seven days were recorded at 3,462. This accounts for 46.31 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 7,475. The number of deaths in Europe decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 3,758.
