Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 151 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Thursday, September 22, 2022, shows a national average of 143.61 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Cilacap (933 specimens), Semarang (891 specimens), Banjarbaru City (880 specimens), Pasuruan (829 specimens), and Tasikmalaya City (790 specimens).
Cilacap ranks first, with 933 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 4.52 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Semarang, which examined 891 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 0.68 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week.
Then, Banjarbaru City, with a population of 280,110, examined 880 specimens per week; Pasuruan examined 829 specimens per week; and Tasikmalaya City examined 790 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 121 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 175 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Banjarbaru City, Gianyar, and Mataram City, with 880, 790, and 731 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
