The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Situbondo (984 people), Cimahi City (983 people), Tasikmalaya (972 people), Jember (972 people), and Jambi City (946 people).
Situbondo ranks first. With a population of 692,140, the number of people tested in the last week was 984 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.3 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Cimahi City. The population of this region is 610,490. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 983 per week. The positive rate in this region is 2.95 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week.
Then, Tasikmalaya recorded 972 people tested per week, and Jambi City, with a population of 605,850, recorded 946 Covid-19 tests in the last week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 107 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 263 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the last week include Jambi City, Batu Bara, and Manado City, with 946, 920, and 910 people tested in the last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
