Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 146 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Thursday, October 27, 2022, shows a national average of 130.92 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Indramayu, Batam City, Jepara, Sukabumi, and Gresik, with weekly test numbers of 997, 979, 947, 906, and 862 respectively.
Indramayu ranks first, with 997 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 3.31 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Batam City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 979 tests were conducted per week. The positive rate in this region is 6.54 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Jepara recorded 947 tests per week, followed by Sukabumi with 906 tests per week, and Gresik with 862 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 143 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of weekly tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 207 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of weekly tests include Batam City, Pekanbaru City, and Samarinda City, with 979, 841, and 819 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
