Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 137 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Wednesday, October 12, 2022, shows a national average of 146.25 specimens per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Kebumen (989 specimens), Banjarbaru City (986 specimens), Cimahi City (984 specimens), Sukoharjo (981 specimens), and Palangkaraya City (980 specimens).
Kebumen ranks first, with 989 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 19.05 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Banjarbaru City, with a population of 280,110. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 986 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 0.31 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Cimahi City recorded 984 specimens examined per week, Sukoharjo 981 specimens per week, and Palangkaraya City (population 295,790) recorded 980 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 135 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 152 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Banjarbaru City (986 specimens), Palangkaraya City (980 specimens), and Mataram City (866 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
