The top five, starting from the highest, are Badung, Mimika, Balikpapan City, Teluk Wondama, and Kepulauan Seribu, with percentages of 682.83 percent, 528.57 percent, 502.02 percent, 374.29 percent, and 364.29 percent, respectively.
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 682.83 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.86 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mimika. The population of this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 528.57 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.84 percent, or higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the weekly testing percentage in Balikpapan City is recorded at 502.02 percent, Teluk Wondama at 374.29 percent, and Kepulauan Seribu at 364.29 percent.
In anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 86 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 283 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Badung, Mimika, and Balikpapan City, with weekly testing percentages of 682.83 percent, 528.57 percent, and 502.02 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
