Several districts/cities in Papua Province still record relatively low vaccination rates compared to other regions. Some of these districts/cities include Lanny Jaya, Tolikara, and Yalimo Regencies.
As of Tuesday, February 1, 2022, these three regencies had only completed 5,513 first doses of the vaccine, out of a target of 357,700 vaccine recipients.
Lanny Jaya Regency has the lowest vaccination rate. As of yesterday, only 1.35% of the target population had received their first dose, the lowest among the 29 districts/cities. The vaccination program in this regency targets 129,940 people. The average number of vaccinations last week was 15. The available vaccine stock is 3,660 doses.
Tolikara Regency follows, with the second-lowest vaccination rate. With a target of 165,080 vaccine recipients, only 1.59% or 2,628 people have been vaccinated. The average number of vaccinations last week was 12. The remaining vaccine stock is 1,000 doses.
Yalimo Regency is third. With a target of 62,681 vaccine recipients, only 1.8% or 1,129 people have been vaccinated. The average number of vaccinations last week was 1. The available vaccine stock is 16 doses.
At the provincial level, Papua's overall first-dose vaccination rate has reached 30.09%, covering 777,580 vaccine recipients. The second-dose vaccination rate is 21.87%, reaching 565,030 vaccine recipients.
