Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 140 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data from the week of October 9th, 2022, shows a national average of 130.71 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Demak, Klaten, Purwakarta, Deli Serdang, and Batam City, with 974, 956, 943, 919, and 869 tests per week, respectively.
Demak ranks first, with 974 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 1.85 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Klaten, which conducted 956 tests per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 3.24 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Following this, Purwakarta conducted 943 tests per week, Deli Serdang 919 tests per week, and 869 tests per week were conducted in another location.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 112 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 205 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Deli Serdang, Batam City, and Pekanbaru City, with 919, 869, and 855 tests per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
