The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Kediri City (990 specimens), Pati (979 specimens), Kediri (972 specimens), Sukoharjo (929 specimens), and Magetan (923 specimens).
Kediri City ranks first. With a population of 292,930, the number of specimens examined is 990 per week. The latest positive rate is seven percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Pati. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 979 per week. The positive rate in this region is 7.37 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Kediri is 972 per week. Sukoharjo, with a population of 903,750, recorded 929 specimens examined per week, and Magetan, with a population of 637,110, recorded 923 specimens examined per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 125 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 156 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Sikka, Tarakan City, and Metro City, with 852, 783, and 730 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
