Based on national Covid-19 data, 156 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data from Wednesday, October 5, 2022, shows a national average of 0.46 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are South Jakarta (4.6 people), Central Jakarta (4.44 people), Balikpapan (3.86 people), Badung (3.26 people), and East Jakarta (3.03 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 4.6 people tested per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 5.81 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 4.44 people per 1,000 people per week were tested. The positive rate is 7.39 percent, also down from the previous week.
Balikpapan recorded 3.86 tests per 1,000 people per week, Badung 3.26, and East Jakarta 3.03.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, national Covid-19 data shows 114 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily test numbers than before. Meanwhile, 204 regencies/cities recorded lower test numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan (3.86 people), Badung (3.26 people), and Mimika (2.56 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
