Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 155 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing, exceeding the national average. Data from Sunday, July 10, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 52.72 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly testing percentage, are Badung (690.66%), Mimika (529.91%), Balikpapan City (493.01%), Sorong City (474.64%), and Teluk Wondama (368.57%).
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, its weekly testing percentage is recorded at 690.66 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.42 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week.
Next is Mimika. This region has a population of 221,810. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage reached 529.91 percent. The positive rate in this region is 0.84 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Then, Balikpapan City, with a population of 646,020, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 493.01 percent; Sorong City, with a population of 282,370, recorded 474.64 percent; and Teluk Wondama, with a population of 34,898, recorded 368.57 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 149 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 217 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Badung, Mimika, and Balikpapan City, with weekly testing percentages of 690.66 percent, 529.91 percent, and 493.01 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
