The highest increase in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in South Kalimantan is currently in Banjarmasin city, with 48.78 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Monday, August 1, 2022. This figure is 18.4 cases higher than the second-highest area.
The COVID-19 transmission situation in Banjarmasin city shows no signs of improvement. This is indicated by the number of cases this week, which is still higher than the previous week's figure of 10.14 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Banjarbaru city is in second place, recording 30.35 weekly confirmed cases per 100,000 population. Compared to last week, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases this week is still higher, meaning there is no apparent improvement.
Rounding out the top five, besides the two areas above, are Banjar, Barito Kuala, and Hulu Sungai Tengah, recording nine, eight, and six weekly confirmed cases respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Tabalong, Tanah Laut, Hulu Sungai Utara, and Balangan. These areas recorded an average increase of more than three cases per 100,000 population.
Other information from today's daily COVID-19 statistics shows that 255 regencies/cities in Indonesia recorded a higher increase compared to last week, and 92 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly confirmations than the previous week.
Furthermore, 181 regencies/cities in Indonesia have not reported any confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population per week, according to the latest developments.
