Data as of Tuesday, November 15, 2022, shows the national average examination is 140.27 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Jayapura City, Tarakan City, West Bandung Regency, Mojokerto Regency, and Pasuruan Regency, with weekly specimen numbers of 982, 938, 902, 899, and 878 respectively.
Jayapura City ranks first. With a population of 309,760, the number of specimens examined is 982 per week. The latest positive rate is 15.84 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Tarakan City. The population of this region is 267,270. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 938 per week. The positive rate in this region is 14.77 percent, down from the previous week's ratio.
Then, West Bandung Regency recorded 902 specimens per week, Mojokerto Regency recorded 899 specimens per week, and Pasuruan Regency recorded 878 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 158 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 136 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Jayapura City, Tarakan City, and Padang City, with 982, 938, and 816 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
