The top five, starting from the highest, are Sukoharjo, Kediri City, Gianyar, Cilacap, and Blitar, with weekly specimen counts of 997, 986, 978, 978, and 971, respectively.
Sukoharjo ranks first. With a population of 903,750, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 997 per week. The latest positive rate is 10.08 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kediri City. The population of this region is recorded at 292,930. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 986 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 14.29 percent, also an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Gianyar recorded 978 specimens per week, Cilacap also recorded 978 specimens per week, and Blitar recorded 971 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 123 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 152 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Gianyar, Padang City, and Metro City, with 978, 926, and 857 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
