This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Balikpapan City (297.2%), Indragiri Hulu (270.31%), Tarakan City (225.19%), Purwakarta (201.98%), and Samarinda City (138.94%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, its weekly testing percentage is recorded at 297.2 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.31 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Indragiri Hulu. The region's population is recorded at 453,480. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 270.31 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Tarakan City, with a population of 271,590, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 225.19 percent. Purwakarta recorded a weekly testing percentage of 201.98 percent, and Samarinda City recorded 138.94 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 31 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 36 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Indragiri Hulu, and Tarakan City, with weekly testing percentages of 297.2 percent, 270.31 percent, and 225.19 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
