Several districts/cities in South Sulawesi province still record relatively low vaccination rates compared to other regions. Some of these districts/cities include Luwu Utara Regency, Tana Toraja Regency, and Maros Regency.
As of Monday, January 31, 2022, these three regencies had only completed 545,340 first doses of the vaccine out of the targeted 773,650 vaccine recipients.
Luwu Utara Regency is ranked first in terms of lowest vaccination rate. As of yesterday, this region has completed 69.51% of its vaccination program. This is the lowest rate among the other 24 districts/cities. The vaccination program in this regency targets 250,490 participants. The average weekly vaccination rate last week was 3,307 participants. The available vaccine stock is 41,348 doses.
Next is Tana Toraja Regency, which has the second-lowest vaccination rate. With a target of 223,810 vaccine recipients, vaccination in this region has reached 70.44%, or 157,650 recipients. The average weekly vaccination rate last week was 616 participants. The available vaccine stock is 43,070 doses.
Maros Regency is ranked third. With a target of 299,360 vaccine recipients, vaccination in this region has reached 71.34%, or 213,570 recipients. The average weekly vaccination rate last week was 2,792 participants. The available vaccine stock is 33,010 doses.
At the provincial level, the total first dose vaccination in South Sulawesi has reached 78.81%, covering 5.56 million vaccine recipients. The second dose vaccination has reached 50.11%, covering 3.54 million vaccine recipients.
