Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 162 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data from the week of July 10, 2022, shows a national average of 194.9 tests per week.
The top five cities with the highest number of tests per week are Cimahi, Buleleng, Pasuruan, Banyuwangi, and Jombang, with 983, 975, 972, 971, and 934 tests per week, respectively.
Cimahi ranks first. With a population of 610,490, it conducted 983 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 5.7 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Buleleng follows, with a population of 672,470. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 975 tests per week were conducted. The positive rate is 1.74 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Pasuruan recorded 972 tests per week, Banyuwangi 971, and Jombang 934.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, the national Covid-19 data recapitulation shows that 147 regencies/cities actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 219 regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests per week include Buleleng (975 tests), Lampung Selatan (929 tests), and Pontianak (896 tests).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
