Average Schooling Duration of Tanah Laut Residents Still Below National Average

The average schooling duration (ASD) of residents aged 25 and over in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan reached 8.09 years in 2025.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ASD of residents in this area was below the South Kalimantan provincial average of 8.81 years in 2025.

The ASD of Tanah Laut residents increased by 0.15 years (1.89%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.94 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, the ASD has risen by 0.21 years (2.66%).

This ASD indicates that the average Tanah Laut resident only attended school up to the 8th grade level. However, this ASD is still below the national average ASD of 9.07 years in 2025.

When compared to the other 12 regencies/cities in South Kalimantan, Tanah Laut's ASD ranks 10th. The other area in the province with the highest ASD is Banjar Baru City (11.07 years), while the lowest ASD is Kota Baru Regency (7.71 years).
