The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 82 regencies/cities with hospital inpatient admissions for COVID-19 per 100,000 population/week above the national average, currently recorded at 1.19 patients per 100,000 population/week (data as of Saturday, April 9, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with inpatient usage exceeding 5.44 patients per 100,000 population/week are Mahakam Ulu, Sorong, Palangkaraya City, Madiun City, and Pulang Pisau, with values of 11.18, 9.37, 6.76, 6.17, and 5.44 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient usage in most regencies/cities outside Java is declining. Higher-than-usual daily inpatient usage was recorded in 13 regencies/cities, while 47 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient usage.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient usage include Mahakam Ulu, Sorong, and Palangkaraya City, with inpatient usage rates of 11.18, 9.37, and 6.76 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
