Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 145 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Monday, October 24, 2022, shows a national average of 149.35 specimens examined per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Cianjur (964 specimens), Cimahi City (962 specimens), Sukabumi (960 specimens), Sukoharjo (943 specimens), and Cilacap (943 specimens).
Cianjur ranks first, with 964 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 2.63 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Cimahi City, with a population of 610,490. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 962 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 8.85 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Sukabumi recorded 960 specimens examined per week, while Sukoharjo and Cilacap each recorded 943 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact across various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 126 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 157 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Gianyar (914 specimens), Tarakan City (849 specimens), and Kubu Raya (788 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
