The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Badung Regency, Mimika Regency, Surakarta City, and Tarakan City, with percentages of 374.22 percent, 358.65 percent, 246.43 percent, 208.49 percent, and 171.8 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly percentage of people tested is 374.22 percent. The latest positive rate is 2.53 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Badung Regency. The population of this region is 727,950. In an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 358.65 percent. The positive rate in this region is 2.14 percent, also down from the previous week.
Furthermore, the weekly percentage of people tested in Mimika Regency is 246.43 percent, 208.49 percent in Surakarta City, and 171.8 percent in Tarakan City.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national COVID-19 data recapitulation, 178 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 157 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
