This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Mimika, Metro City, Surakarta City, and Semarang City, with percentages of 390.22 percent, 310.27 percent, 233.14 percent, 232.82 percent, and 209.98 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 390.22 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.9 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mimika. The population in this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 310.27 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 4.32 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Metro City recorded 233.14 percent testing, Surakarta City recorded 232.82 percent, and Semarang City recorded 209.98 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 188 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 180 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Metro City, with weekly testing percentages of 390.22 percent, 310.27 percent, and 233.14 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
