The Covid-19 Task Force recorded that 2,654 villages had a mask-wearing compliance rate of less than 60% as of July 8, 2021. Of that number, 548 villages with a mask-wearing compliance rate below 60% are located in Aceh.
In West Java, there are 503 villages with a mask-wearing compliance rate below 60%. The figure is 493 villages in East Java and 186 villages in Central Java.
Furthermore, there are 174 villages in North Sumatra with a mask-wearing compliance rate below 60%. South Kalimantan and South Sulawesi each have 131 and 103 villages with low mask-wearing compliance rates, respectively.
In West Sumatra, there are 85 villages with a mask-wearing compliance rate below 60%. The number is 62 villages in Southeast Sulawesi and 61 villages in Banten.
Meanwhile, there are 1,291 villages with a mask-wearing compliance rate of 61%-75%. 2,125 villages have a mask-wearing compliance rate of 76%-90%. There are also 8,491 villages with a mask-wearing compliance rate of 91%-100%.
The use of masks, especially double-layered masks or N95 type masks, is important to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus. Therefore, people need to wear masks when doing outdoor activities. In addition, people are encouraged to maintain physical distancing and wash their hands with soap.
